Michigan’s Lemon Law applies to passenger vehicles, sport utility vehicles (SUVs), pickup trucks, and vans that are either purchased or leased in Michigan. The law also covers vehicles purchased or leased outside Michigan but by residents of the state. Importantly, the vehicle must have a manufacturer’s express warranty at the time of purchase or lease. However, it is crucial to note that Michigan’s Lemon Law does not cover motor homes, buses, trucks other than pickups and vans, motorcycles or off-road vehicles. While generally not applicable to used vehicles, the law covers those still under the manufacturer’s express warranty at the time of purchase or lease.
